Welcome to the online home of the The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) UC Davis Chapter. Founded in 1963, AIAA is the world’s largest technical society dedicated to the global aerospace profession. AIAA’s mission is to address the professional needs and interests of the past, current, and future aerospace workforce and to advance the state of aerospace science, engineering, technology, operations, and policy to benefit our global society. It organizes and hosts the aerospace industry’s most important conferences and events, where aerospace professionals exchange information, present findings, network, and collaborate. AIAA brings the aerospace community together to bring the world together.
Today, with more than 35,000 members, it is the world’s largest professional society devoted to the progress of engineering and science in aviation, space, and defense. Our growing community of university students are invited to take part in design competitions, scholarships, internships, and even discounts on textbooks. Additionally, aerospace professionals can participate in one of our many conferences, continuing education courses, and career placement services fostering a focus on career enhancement and professional growth.
Reactivated in February, 2012, the UC Davis chapter is trying to bring opportunities to students. We serve to increase connections with the industry, facilitate tours of aerospace companies, host guest speakers, and increase access to scholarships and research opportunities. The UC Davis AIAA is dedicated to enhancing the aerospace community on campus and helping students thrive both in school and in industry.
The AIAA is a valuable resource for not only Aerospace Engineering majors, but anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in an aerospace related discipline. To find out more please explore our website or contact one of our board members.
